  The location of the medieval Monticchiello is half way between Pienza and Montepulciano in the center of Siena Province. Siena, Cortona, Assisi, Perugia, Orvieto and Arezzo are under 1 hour drive away. From Casa Anna you can reach the Autostrada or a train station in about 20 minutes to take daytrips to Florence, even Rome. 
 

 

The large walled-in garden has fruit trees, roses and herbs, and rows of grape vines. It's a peaceful location for enjoying the views, for outside dining or taking a nap in the shade.

Monticchiello has shops, cafe' and two restaurants; here you can live like the locals do. This is a town of only a few hundred inhabitants, of rustic houses and small squares; peaceful and quiet in the evenings. Monticchiello is a classic fortified hill town made of warm bricks and stones and beautifully restored.

The surrounding region is wonderful for the outdoors, for walks along the cypress lined country roads, having a picnic in the olive grove or lunch on the sunny terrace of a restaurant. 

You can drive right up to Casa Anna, but parking is outside the town walls, only a short walk away.
