Villa Monte Domini Firenze
is an independent villa that sleeps 18 people with 10 bedrooms and is located in the cooler hills above Florence. This wonderful Tuscan villa has sloping and terraced gardens with spellbinding views of the surrounding forest covered hills. The villa has been recently restored to a high standard with its terracotta floors and ceilings with wooden beams. This large villa in its peaceful setting makes for the perfect place for relaxing vacations.
Garden and pool on terraced hillside
A sparkling curvy pool in the upper garden has the perfect position with plenty of sun and stunning views. The green hills all around are covered with forests. Next to the pool is a timbered sauna, changing and exercising room.
Besides the pool, the garden had two wide terraces; one is above the pool and is accessed from the higher level of the villa since it was built on a slope. The furniture includes couple of iron tables and chairs, with shade provided by the nearby trees. The second terrace is on the lower level of the villa and is paved with terracotta tiles. Here you have a long table and plenty of chairs, a special place for your entire group to enjoy al fresco dinners together.
Inside Villa Monte Domini Ground Floor
The main entrance leads into a furnished hall with a huge fireplace along one wall. From here a short corridor provides access to a guest toilet and further sitting rooms. On the right, the sitting room has a comfortable white, double sofa and armchairs.
At the end of the corridor are two lounge rooms. One has a handsome fireplace and a couple of armchairs and a wooden table with chairs ideal for card games. The other lounge is a comfortable room with a double sofa and a couple of armchairs. Glass and wood doors lead out to the garden.
To the other side of the floor is a spacious lounge with a huge fireplace, a double sofa, a triple sofa and an armchair, plus a grand piano. Wooden ceiling is in all the ground floor lounges as beautiful Persian carpets cover the floors.
Off this room you step into a very special room, it’s a study with bookshelves covering the walls. You find a range of books written in Italian, English and German. In the centre of this room is a solid wooden desk with a chair and in three of the corners are comfortable armchairs, while a church pew runs along one of the walls.
On this ground floor are the enormous dining room and the big kitchen. The long wooden table in the center of the dining room seats 20 people. This room has a fireplace to one side, and doors on two walls providing access to the garden and to the outside dining table on the terrace.
The kitchen is equipped with a modern gas cooktop, professional oven and an under counter fridge without freeze. There is an extra preparation area with a big fridge with separate freezer. In the centre of the kitchen is a table with 6 chairs. The laundry and a guest toilet are down stairs from here.
Bedrooms at Villa Monte Domini
On the upper floor are all 10 bedrooms off the T shaped corridor that runs through the centre. At the end is a door to the upper terrace. The first bedroom, at the far end of the corridor is a beautiful room with pale green walls and access to the garden. The large double bed has a lovely cushioned headboard. In the room is a fireplace, an armchair and wardrobe. En-suite bathroom has a bath with a handheld shower.
Opposite this is a double room with a pretty bed with a green and floral headboard. In this room is an antique chest of drawers and a wardrobe. En-suite bathroom has a bath with a handheld shower.
In the centre of the floor there is a unique double bedroom with a high four poster wooden bed. To one side is a fireplace, while below the window is an armchair. There is a built-in wardrobe opposite the bed. En-suite bathroom has a bath with a handheld shower.
The largest bedroom is a suite with a fireplace and a couple of armchairs opposite the double bed. In the room is an antique chest of drawers. A dressing room with two wardrobes leads into the bathroom with a bath and handheld shower. The windows of the bedroom look out to the views of the valley.
Next to this room is a bedroom decorated in blue and pale yellow. There is a double bed, two matching armchairs and a small fireplace. To one side is a wardrobe. The two windows provide the room with light, one looks out towards the views of the valley. En-suite is a bathroom with shower.
Neighbouring this room is a lovely room with warm atmosphere provided by the reds and yellows used to decorate the room. It is a double bedroom with a chest of drawers. The views from the window are to the pool and of the hills around the villa. En-suite is a bathroom with shower.
To the other side of the floor, at the end of the corridor is a wonderful room with a beautiful double bed with a red cushioned headboard, antique vanity table, fireplace and wardrobe. En-suite bathroom has a bath with a handheld shower.
Next to this is the final double bedroom. The pretty bed has a peach coloured headboard. It has an antique chest of drawers, built-in wardrobe, and fireplace. En-suite bathroom has a bath with a handheld shower.
The final two bedrooms are twin rooms. With the day beds head to head, Persian rugs, a built-in wardrobe and a desk with chair. Each has an En-suite bathroom has a bath with a handheld shower. Both have windows that overlook the surrounding forests. Both of these rooms are for a single person only. Although this leaves us with two extra beds, for legal reasons, two extra people cannot be accommodated, and we have a maximum limit of 18 people in the villa.

The basement of the villa houses a small wine cellar and an antique, stone olive press.
Note that inside the villa there is no mobile reception, it is available in the gardens.
The Monte Domini estate is composed of the villa, a small chapel, an olive press and the caretaker’s house. The chapel can be used for weddings. The gardens of the villa are completely fenced.
The caretaker lives in a cottage at the end of the garden and below the villa. His house doesn’t overlook the villa or gardens.
Pool at Private Villa near Florence
The pool is located above the villa in the terraced and well maintained garden. Around the curvy pool is a flagstone paved sundeck with several sunbeds. In one corner is a small waterfall giving a soothing bubbling sound.
The pool has spellbinding views across the valley and onto the hills beyond. These hills are covered by forests that provide a wonderful change of colours in the autumn. The maximum dimensions of the pool are 12×6 metres and it’s 1.2 to 2 metres deep. Pool is open from May to September.
Next to the pool is a pretty, stone building that houses a full bathroom and changing rooms. Inside there is also a sauna that seats 4 people at a time, and a small gym with a few exercise machines.
