Casa Lunga

Casa Lunga is a rambling unspoiled farmhouse (sleeps 13) that sits on the edge of a fertile farming valley, often bursting with sunflowers in July. The location is central, but quiet and peaceful, positioned halfway between two small towns and almost 17 kilometers south of Siena. Casa Lunga is an independent farmhouse villa and a charming country home consisting of two levels and perfect for groups who like the relaxed farmhouse atmosphere. This farmhouse is so authentic that you can easily see how life used to be for those living on a working farm in Tuscany years ago.

Ground Floor of Casa Lunga

On the ground floor is a large dining room with a CD player, a sitting room with fireplace and TV, and a big kitchen with microwave and dishwasher. There are also two double bedrooms, one of which has an additional single bed, and a shared bathroom with shower.

Upper Floor of Casa Lunga

On the upper floor are three double bedrooms, a bedroom with two single beds, and 2 further bathrooms with showers. The bedrooms are located at each end, leaving the middle of the floor for the sunny and spacious sitting room with fireplace, a seating group, TV, and a kitchenette with a table and chairs. An external arched balcony looks over the courtyard and has an  stone stairway, so you have another access down.

Pool and Outdoor living near Siena

At the open barn across the way is a wide covered outdoor dining room that fully opens to the courtyard.  There’s a long table and benches so you can bring the whole group for meals al fresco. On the walls are reminders of farming heritage with tools and equipment artfully displayed. The pool is down a short path past huge terracotta pots brimming with geraniums. The pool backs up to the terraced garden and overlooks the wide fields of this productive agricultural valley.

Location is 20 minutes from Siena

The nearest village is Monteroni d ‘Arbia, maybe about 5 km and here you can find all the basic amenities. This town has as a supermarket, pharmacy, post office, bank and also the railway station. Sports available nearby include: tennis, riding stables, bicycle and Vespa rental, and a 9-hole golf course.
