Ristorante Conte Matto in Trequanda is one of our all-time favorites, they serve excellent meals at good value.
Why we like this restaurant so much?
You can choose from a seasonal menu in addition to the regular one. We often have an antipasto that’s based on asparagus, zucchini or other vegetables depending on the season. They also had snails, salty anchovy, and a fine tartar as wonderful starters this past summer (2018). My favorite 1st courses are the delicious handmade pastas, including spaghetti and tagliatelle with truffles and other sauces, and the smooth creamy risotto. For 2nd course, tasty lamb chops and well-aged beef are followed up by mouthwatering desserts. Ask Davido to recommend local Doc Orcia wines from around Trequanda.
How to find Conte Matto in Traquanda
Well worth a detour, you find a large parking lot on both sides of town, then walk up the ramp. Conte Matto has a wide sunny terrace with panoramic views, attractive decor and a/c inside.
