Weather in Tuscany in May
Tuscany Weather in May
May is clearly among the most popular months to be in Tuscany. Warming weather and the natural beauty bring people here. We all drive around to admire the red poppies blazing up some fallow fields while wild flowers carpet the roadsides. It’s just spectacular. Temps are increasingly warmer reaching to mid 20°C and more in many places. Sunshine usually prevails over cloudy days, except this May in 2019, when we had more drizzle than we cared for. Even when it does rain sometimes, sun usually breaks out and thus precipitation decreases as well. We welcome sunrise at 5.30 am and sunset well after 8.30 pm by the end of May.
Time for the Great Outdoors
This is the time for enjoying the outdoors, with bicycle rides and walks with plenty of daylight hours. Now you can start paring back your wardrobe and concentrate on your lighter clothing for warm weather. Bring shorts, sun dresses, and short-sleeved shirts for the daytime, and long pants and long sleeved shirts, plus a jacket or a cotton sweater for cooler parts of days and evenings. Sun is getting more intense during the day, so put of a wide rimmed hat and slather on the sunscreen lotion. (Average Max Temperature: 24°C and Average Precipitation: 72mm.)
