Villa Colto Arezzo

Villa Colto Arezzo is a handsome villa on three floors is located in the countryside just outside of a small town not too far from Florence and Arezzo. Thanks to its location on the top of a low hill, this villa was once a look-out tower for a nearby castle. It was later transformed into a family villa and was once owned by the renowned Medici family from Florence. The current architect owner has restored this villa with great style and attention to detail. The house is superbly equipped for a large group of 12 people.

Garden at Villa Colto near Arezzo

Villa Colto is set in a garden with its own private pool and has views to the surrounding countryside and towards the local town. The town Terranuova Bracciolini has a variety of local shops as well as supermarkets, restaurants and bars,under 1 km from the villa. The property has sizable grounds (2 hectares = 5 acres) on the top of a little hill. The garden extends down the slopes into pretty olive groves and orchards. Since one of the past owners was an expert in Botanics, the garden has some rare species. You find lime trees from Lebanon, ancient cypress trees, and a variety of fruit trees as well as olives.

Pool at Villa Colto Arezzo

The pool area is located to the front of the house on a sunny terrace. You gain accessed to the pool through glass doors from the ground floor living and dining rooms. The pool is 4 x 8 meters and you have an rather spacious outdoor sitting and eating area at the poolside, complete with a BBQ.

Villa Location near Florence and Arezzo

The villa’s location makes it the perfect base for exploring Florence (45 mins) and Chianti, as well as the main cities and sights of Tuscany. It is also within easy reach of Arezzo (30 mins) and Siena (1 hour). For shoppes of fashion, the area offers a wide selection of outlets with all the well-known Italian brands. Remodeling of the Villa to Sleep 12 people

This is a spacious house and makes the perfect vacation for large groups and families. The architect owner has recently restored this villa with great flair. She furnished it using top quality fixtures and fittings so it’s very stylish. Villa Colto retains the original feel of a Tuscan farmhouse but the restoration gave it every modern convenience. The villa has a wonderful elegant feel to it with many locally  handcrafted pieces of furniture.

Ground Floor Spacious Living Areas

On the ground floor the main entrance is into a hallway that leads through to an exceptionally spacious living and dining rooms and upstairs to the top floor. Both living and dining rooms have open fireplaces. The living area is equipped with satellite TV, DVD player, stereo CD player and an e-printer. These rooms boast very elegant furnishings with specially selected handcrafted pieces.  The formal dining area has an original vaulted ceiling and hosts a large dining table. The large professionally equipped kitchen has a central work area with wide cook-top and two ovens, microwave, dishwasher, and a large fridge/freezer. The laundry room comes with a washing machine and drier. A bathroom with shower is also on this ground floor.

Outdoor Living Areas
The garden also boasts 2 terraces, to the front and rear of the house , with barbecue and traditional working pizza oven, along with dining furniture, making these ideal spots for al fresco meals or just a romantic drink watching the sunset. Several large glass doors lead out to the garden and pool area and the solarium. Here’s a real oasis of peace with sun lounges and umbrellas.

Upper Floor Bedrooms at Villa Colto

A staircase leads from the downstairs entrance hall to the first floor where there is a second lounge area with open fireplace and satellite TV. There are 5 bedrooms on the first floor and a further bedroom in the tower. On the first floor there are two twin rooms (1 can be made double). These two twin bedrooms share a bathroom with shower. There are three double bedrooms, one with an en suite bathroom with bathtub, one has an en suite bathroom with shower and the third has a bathroom just across the hallway with a double sink, shower and bathtub (shared with the tower bedroom). All bathrooms have hair-driers.

A well-equipped study is also on the upper floor and has a computer linked to a fast ADSL internet connection with printer. All bedrooms on the upper floor have air conditioning and all bedrooms also have screens on the windows.

The Tower of Villa Colto Arezzo

There is a further pretty twin bedroom located in the second floor tower room, once a medieval look-out tower. It has windows on three sides and provides a 360 degree view. It shares a bathroom on the first floor landing. This bedroom also has air conditioning.
