Below the Amiata mountain, in the village of Pescina is the surprisingly good Ristorante Silene, offering fine dining and is worth a detour to this famous country Inn. Refined cooking and local specialties (truffles, mushrooms, game), also vegetarian selection. Enjoy delicious hand-made pasta and my favorite, the baked chocolate desert.
